This work was created from memories whilst an artist resident at Falls Creek. During my time at Falls Creek during summer I loved getting up early to watch the sun rise over the mountains. I have tried to recreate the feeling of stillness whilst watching the sun rise in this artwork.

The gradient of spray paint moves from warm peach to cool violet, capturing the fleeting glow of sunset into a minimal field of colour. Hand-stitched lines navigate the surface in quiet repetition, introducing a tactile dimension that disrupts the smoothness of paint while echoing the contours and rhythms of the terrain. By combining the immediacy of spray paint and the slow, deliberate act of sewing I capture a moment of light before it slips away.
