This piece was inspired by an incredible sunrise I experienced while travelling through Mongolia. Because of the nomadic way of life, I honestly can’t remember exactly where we were staying—and that’s what I loved about being there. Every day brought a new place, and with it, a new sky to wake up under.

I wanted to capture the feeling of that morning—the soft, shifting light and the sense of stillness. I used layers of spray paint and acrylic to build up the colours, then stitched over the top to slow things down and add texture. It’s a reflection on the quiet beauty of sunrise, and a reminder of how grounding those in-between moments can be, no matter where you are in the world.
